Our guest today is a retired Marine of nearly 30 years. He served as pilot of Marine One under several presidents and was an executive with the state Department of Education. He recently served as the President and CEO of Pacific Historic Pacific Parks, and was the former superintendent, office of school facilities and support services for the Hawaii Dept. of Education. He is also a member of the Affordable Hawaii Coalition and is here today to talk about a proposed constitutional amendment to be voted on in November’s General Election, please welcome our guest today, Ray L’Heureux.

Today we want to talk to you about the Hawaii Constitution, which will be subject to change by voters in the coming general election.
Specifically, the ballot asks, “Shall the legislature be authorized to establish, as provided by law, a surcharge on investment real property to be used to support public education?”
