He served as pilot of Marine One under several presidents and was an executive with the state Department of Education. He recently served as the President and CEO of Pacific Historic Pacific Parks, and was the former superintendent, office of school facilities and support services for the Hawaii Dept. of Education. He is also a member of the Affordable Hawaii Coalition and is here today to talk about a proposed constitutional amendment to be voted on in November’s General Election, please welcome our guest today, Ray L’Heureux.

From June 1st to November 30th is hurricane season for Hawai'i. A season of powerful storms that can be life-threatening as well as cause serious property-threatening hazards such as flooding, storm surge, high winds and tornadoes. Here is some helpful information as you plan before and after hurricanes. 

Hurricane Kit

Make sure your hurricane kit includes:

  • Flashlights & extra bulbs
  • Battery-operated radio
  • Battery-operated lanterns
  • Batteries (in different sizes!)  
  • Matches 
  • First aid kit
  • Duct tape
  • Rain gear
  • Gas powered stove
  • Plastic garbage bags
  • Fire extinguisher

It’s not surprising to see a good number of homeowners are choosing to list their home during the summer months due to buyer demand being much higher than what the current inventory of homes can accommodate. WIth the last quarter of the year approaching fast, more competition from other sellers will probably have an impact on how soon you choose the sell, especially if you have been holding off for the best time to do so.

The number of sold homes in Oahu continues to rise this year and this might be the best time to list your home for sale.

 


The number of homes sold continues to rise

If you watch the trends in the Oahu home market yearly, you'll know that things heats up this time of the year, and 2018 is no exception. This trend is expected to continue in the second half of the year. The data in June 2018 shows that the number of new listings and closed sales on Oahu has increased significantly compared to earlier in the year.  


 

There were 514 new single family homes listed in June compared to 377 in February of this year. As for closed sales in June, there were 365 single family homes closed compared to 217 in February.  There were 547 condos closed
