Have you heard about cryptocurrency? Even if you have, you may still have some questions about what exactly it is.

The term “cryptocurrency” is thrown around a lot these days. It’s a modern-day buzzword. Cryptocurrency is digitally encrypted money. The idea has been credited to Satoshi Nakamoto, who describes it as a “peer-to-peer electronic cash system with no trusted third party.”

So what is cryptocurrency truly worth, and is it accepted everywhere?

To answer these, we’d like to use the example of one of the most popular cryptocurrencies: the BitCoin. In 2009, the BitCoin was worth less than a penny. Now, at the time we are making this video, the BitCoin is worth $18,000.

"At the time we are making this video, the BitCoin is worth $18,000."

Some countries have banned or restricted the use of BitCoin, while others explicitly allow them. As for our team, we don’t accept cryptocurrency.

To learn more about BitCoin and cryptocurrency in general, we recommend you watch the Netflix documentary “Banking on Bitcoin.”
