The oldest military base on the island of O’ahu, Fort Shafter is where the U.S. Army Pacific is headquartered. Over 5,000 military personnel and civilians are stationed, living or employed at the base, which remains the main command center for Army Forces in the Asia-Pacific. Spread out over 590 acres, this mainstay on O’ahu borders the Waianae mountain range.

Fort Shafter is located about 4 miles northwest of Honolulu and is just a quick 9-minute drive to Honolulu International Airport (HNL).
