Tripler Army Medical Center (TMAC) on the Island of O’ahu is the largest military hospital in the Pacific Basin. Established in the early 1900s, Tripler Hospital was located in Fort Shafter. Soon after the attack of Pearl Harbor in WWII, the medical center was relocated to its current location on the slopes of Moanalua Ridge overlooking Honolulu. The distinctive pink building was inspired by the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, which was a popular recreational retreat for military personnel during the war.

Today, Tripler Army Medical Center provides medical support for over 264,000 active and retired military personnel and their families. Their area of service spans the Asian and Pacific Rim region.

Located just minutes from Waikiki Beach, those living near the base enjoy lots of natural scenery in addition to recreational amenities. Also nearby is the Moanalua Golf Course, The Mall at Pearl Harbor, and Hoaloha Park.
